Job summary

Expleo Group in the United Kingdom is seeking a Senior HW Engineer to coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of automotive components and systems. You will deliver commodity plans ensuring quality, cost and time targets while leading technical content across programmes.

The role focuses on HW development of ADAS modules, manages tests and change control, and ensures compliance with design standards and verification activities. Collaboration with suppliers is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in HW design for automotive environments.
• Proficient analog and digital circuit design skills.
• Schematic and PCB layout experience across platforms.
• Knowledge of electronic instrumentation and testing methods.
• Design for EMC with testing and validation exposure.
• Understanding of product creation, delivery, changes and governance.
• Experience with 8D problem solving and camera testing investigations.
• DFMEA/FMEDA experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time, and manage technical content across programmes.
• Own and deliver Engineering APQP deliverables and related documentation.
• Manage Change Requests, forecast expenditure and engage supplier teams.
• Plan and oversee component/integration tests through to sign-off; support test teams.
• Resolve design issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams.
• Ensure adherence to programme standards and design maturation processes.
• Provide input into new feature development.
• Maintain meeting minutes, design analysis documents and quality history.

Job description

The purpose of this role is to coordinate the design, development, testing and introduction of components or commodities . The role requires the individual to deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time and lead on the technical content and integrity of specific components and systems across specific programmes

Responsibilities

As HW senior Engineer the main responsibilities will be related to progress the HW development of ADAS modules and support issues resolution. In general terms these responsibilities can be summarized as follows:

• Deliver the commodity plan to quality, cost and time, including maintaining the Worldwide Engineering Release System
• Own and deliver the Engineering Advanced Product Quality Planning deliverables
• Manage Change Request, expenditure forecasting and the relevant supplier teams in support of delivery of the programme milestones
• Manage component level/Integration test plans, including detailed planning of test and development stages through to sign off and support Engineering test teams with rectification of issues
• Resolve issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet targets
• Ensure all appropriate JLR standards are met through-out design maturation
• Provide input into new feature development

Ensure All Programme Design Solutions Meet

• Programme targets for cost and weight
• Legal regulations and Requirements Management & Design Verification documentation
• Optical Quality and Premium Consumer Product Audit requirements

Keep All Module Documentation Up To Date Including

• Meeting minutes
• Foundation and Programme Design analysis documents
• Quality history and bill of design

Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested

Qualifications

• Previous experience on HW design for automotive
• Analog and Digital Design
• Schematic and Layout design experience
• Electronic Instrumentation
• Design for EMC and testing experience
• A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes
• Issue resolution experience (8D analysis process and experience in camera testing and issue investigation in electronic components)
• DFMEA/FMEDA experience

Desired Skills

• Previous experience related with optical lab and instruments
• Image Quality and optical knowledge
• ADAS broader knowledge (Development of other automotive components)
• Supplier Management / eAPQP process / Camera production deep understanding
