Job summary

Bally’s Interactive is seeking a backend Java Engineer to help build and evolve our Online Sportsbook APIs (Matchday). You will collaborate with the Sports UI, Platform and Data teams, and external providers to deliver scalable services on AWS.

You'll develop features, write robust tests, and contribute to a culture of continuous delivery, learning, and collaboration. The role interfaces with multiple stakeholders during launch phases as Bally’s migrates Bally Bet to new APIs and UIs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot in backend/API development.
• Strong understanding of relational databases and API design principles.
• Experience applying agile methodologies and modern engineering practices (TDD, pairing, CD).
• Familiarity with distributed systems technologies and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop product features, updates and capabilities for online sports APIs.
• Apply TDD and maintain high-quality, well-documented code.
• Design and develop customer-focused backend solutions.
• Align with team goals and business objectives across domains.
• Collaborate using agile practices and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Contribute to code reviews, propose improvements and maintain production delivery.
