Job summary

Cathcart Technology is seeking a Java Software Developer to work on large-scale, business-critical systems with a modern stack.

This remote-first role offers exposure to Java (Spring Boot), React/TypeScript on AWS, plus CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes. You’ll join a cross-functional Scrum team and contribute to engineering practices in a collaborative, learning-focused environment.

Office visits are optional approximately once per month in South Manchester.

Qualifications

• Solid commercial Java development experience and strong fundamentals.
• Comfortable contributing to production systems in an Agile environment.
• Willing to learn and collaborate within a cross-functional Scrum team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain large-scale, business-critical systems.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Test Analysts and Engineers.
• Contribute to engineering practices, testing, and continuous improvement.
• Engage with modern cloud and DevOps tooling in a Scrum setting.
