Job summary

DWP Digital in the United Kingdom is seeking a capable backend engineer to design and build APIs, RESTful services and microservices. You will deploy applications in AWS/Azure, implement TDD/BDD, and work with Java 21 and open-source tech to deliver scalable, secure digital services used by millions.

You will collaborate with architects, engineers and product teams to ensure robust CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes deployment and high-quality software delivery.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience developing APIs, RESTful services and microservices architectures.
• Experience deploying apps in AWS or Azure cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
• Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL or MongoDB.
• Experience building robust automated test suites supporting CI/CD.
• Proven experience developing and supporting large-scale systems using Java 21 and open-source technologies.

Salary: £55,000 - 55,000 per year

• We need experience building and deploying applications in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
• We need a strong understanding of Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).

• We need experience building and maintaining robust automated test suites that support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• We need proven experience developing and supporting large-scale systems using Java 21 and open-source technologies.
