The business is looking to recruit an experienced Lead Java Engineer to join its growing engineering team, contributing to the development of sophisticated software solutions that support trading operations and complex financial markets.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Java Engineer with a strong background in Capital Markets to take on a key technical role within an expanding technology business. You will be involved in designing, developing and enhancing business-critical trading platforms, working with modern Java technologies while helping shape the technical direction of systems used across the financial services industry.

Key responsibilities:

• Strong commercial experience with Java 11+, Spring and Spring Boot
• Solid understanding of Capital Markets, financial instruments and post-trade technology
• Experience working with microservices, APIs and distributed systems
• Knowledge of multithreading, performance tuning, profiling and RMI
• Familiarity with TDD, BDD and software engineering best practices
• Previous experience in a senior or lead engineering position, with the ability to mentor and support other developers
• Strong communication, problem-solving and technical leadership skills

This role is particularly well suited to an experienced Java Engineer who wants to remain hands-on while taking greater responsibility for technical delivery and supporting a growing development team. You will work on complex Capital Markets platforms, contributing to the development of scalable, high-quality software that supports critical trading and post-trade processes.
