Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Android Fullstack Developer with a backend focus to join our client's Android Research & Engineering team. In this role, you'll work on innovative applications to enhance health and fitness insights. Your responsibilities include building, maintaining, and optimizing backend services and APIs that support our Android applications, along with some frontend development using Kotlin.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems and APIs for Fitbit Android applications.
• Collaborate with mobile and backend teams to create engaging user experiences and data-driven insights.
• Work with databases, optimize SQL queries, and develop secure, scalable APIs for high-volume transactions.
• Use Java as the primary language to ensure robust, maintainable code.
• Contribute to frontend features using Kotlin, enhancing UI and functionality. Write tests to ensure quality and reliability.

Requirements:

• Experience in backend development, especially building APIs for mobile apps. Expertise in Multithreaded Programming.
• Proficiency in Java, OOP principles, and service/server-side development.
• Strong SQL and database skills, with experience in schema design and optimization.
• Experience with Android frontend development using Kotlin is preferred. Familiarity with cloud services like AWS or Google Cloud is a plus.
• Preferred: Experience in health tech or fitness apps; familiarity with CI/CD, complex build systems, deployment, and Agile practices; knowledge of Android UI principles and best practices.
