Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a Java Developer to join a leading financial services risk technology team. This backend-focused role emphasizes building and enhancing a proprietary risk platform without frontend work.

You will spend approximately 70% on backend Java development and 30% on production support, including L3 duties. Hybrid work arrangements and exposure to market-leading technology are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in financial services or risk management environments.
• Experience with risk platforms, pricing, clearing, or similar complex financial systems.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (Oracle and/or PostgreSQL).
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices in regulated environments.
• Experience using Git, JIRA, Maven, IntelliJ and CI/CD tooling.
• Ability to engage with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Willingness to participate in a support rota and provide L3 production support.

Responsibilities

• Develop new functionality for the risk platform backend in Java.
• Support platform improvements and analyse business requirements to design solutions.
• Work with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical designs with a is focus on reliability.
• Participate in on-call production support (L3) on a rota basis.
