Job summary

Cognizant, based in Greater London, is seeking an Automation Tester to own end-to-end quality in a cross-functional Agile team. You will design and maintain Java-driven test frameworks, leveraging Playwright, and drive automated testing across APIs and services.

Responsibilities include integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/Jenkins), performing SQL data validation, and ensuring robust test coverage while collaborating with developers and product teams.

Qualifications

• Strong Java programming experience with clean, testable code.
• Proven ability to design and build test automation frameworks.
• Hands-on Playwright experience.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/Jenkins) and automated testing in CI.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation and analysis.
• Experience in API/service-level testing.
• Own quality activities end-to-end in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain test automation frameworks using Java and Playwright.
• Write clean, maintainable automation code following OOP practices.
• Develop and execute automated test cases for functional and end-to-end testing.
• Perform API and service-level testing to validate functionality.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, Jenkins).
• Support continuous testing within the development lifecycle.
• Perform SQL-based data validation and test data creation.
• Identify, analyze, and troubleshoot defects and failures.
• Own quality activities end-to-end and ensure test coverage.
• Collaborate with developers, product teams, and stakeholders in Agile environment.
• Improve automation coverage and testing processes.
