Job summary

Millennium is seeking a Java Algorithmic Developer for EQ Trading Technology in London. You will partner with technologists and trading desks to build and improve real-time execution systems, focusing on VWAP/TWAP strategies and low-latency matching

You will design scalable software for high-throughput environments, implement automated testing, and stay ahead on market structure and regulatory requirements to ensure robust deployment across global markets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in equities execution systems.
• Experience developing execution algorithms (VWAP, TWAP, Inline, Pairs).
• Experience with matching engines and dark pools.
• Automated testing for algorithms: simulations, backtesting, regression suites, replay frameworks.
• Deep understanding of market microstructure and pre-trade risk checks.
• Expert-level Java skills for low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems.
• Knowledge of distributed, event-driven architectures and messaging Gent tools like Kafka or Solace.

Responsibilities

• Partner with technologists and teams to enhance the execution offering for PMs.
• Build and evolve real-time algorithmic trading systems and platforms.
• Develop high-quality features and enhance functionality on a mission-critical platform.
• Design and upgrade software to meet performance, scalability, and quality goals.
• Translate business requirements and market constraints into technical solutions.
• Stay current on relevant technologies, libraries, and computing environments.
• Provide L3 troubleshooting and data analysis for critical trading infrastructure.
