Job summary

Bincombe Valley Primary School is hiring a part-time Janitor to join the site team on a permanent basis. The role involves outdoor grounds maintenance, cleaning duties and acting as a key holder for security in the Site Manager's absence. 20 hours per week, with potential additional hours.

The successful candidate should be enthusiastic, reliable, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. An enhanced DBS check and safeguarding checks are required in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Experience in DIY or basic maintenance is expected.
• Good understanding of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Bincombe Valley Primary School is looking to appoint a Janitor to join our dedicated and supportive site team on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will work closely with our Site Manager, carrying out duties effectively and efficiently in line with the needs of the school. This is a varied and practical role which will include:

• Assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the school grounds, particularly outdoor areas.
• Cleaning duties
• Being responsible for the security of the school premises in the absence of the Site Manager, acting as a key holder.

The Successful Candidate Will:

• Be enthusiastic, friendly and passionate about their role
• Have a strong work ethic
• Have some DIY / handyman experience
• Have a good understanding of general health and safety*
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team

*In-house training, including Healthy and Safety, will be provided where necessary.

The salary quoted is the annual salary for the position at the time of advert. The salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments.
