Job summary

Leek High School is seeking a reliable Premises Assistant to support the smooth daily operation of the school site. You will perform general maintenance, secure the premises at agreed times, and ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems function correctly.

You will work closely with site staff, the cleaning team and contractors, maintain accurate records, and uphold health and safety standards to provide a safe, tidy environment for pupils and staff throughout the school day.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar premises or facilities role.
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Job description

You will be expected to provide general maintenance to support the effective operation of the School, in line with the job description.

This role will involve securing the premises at agreed times.

Checking heating & lighting & alarm Systems.

You will be expected to maintain health and safety standards.

Liaising with contractors & maintaining effective records, you will need a knowledge of Microsoft Office & Outlook.

Working closely with the site staff and supporting the cleaning team & restocking consumables, to ensure premises are safe, tidy and in a satisfactory condition to allow daily operations.

The role will involve clearing spillages, blockages and general waste from in and around the site.

Experience of working in a related field is preferred, you should possess a "can do" attitude and should be approachable.

Ability to work constructively as part of a team, you should be friendly but respectful. You must be committed to the needs of pupils, parents and all stakeholders.
