Job summary

Minerva is seeking an experienced ICU Nurse (Band 5) for an intensive care unit in Marylebone. The role offers £26 per hour, 12-hour shifts and ongoing work in a modern critical care setting.

The successful candidate will be currently registered with the NMC, have at least two years in acute ICU/critical care, and demonstrate excellent clinical and communication skills within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

The Role

As an ICU Nurse, you’ll play a key role in delivering safe, compassionate and high‑quality care to critically ill patients and their families.

You’ll be responsible for:

• Assessing, planning, delivering and evaluating individualised patient care.
• Caring for patients with complex and changing clinical needs.
• Working closely with doctors, allied health professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Safely administering medication and maintaining high standards of infection prevention and control.
• Recognising and responding promptly to changes in patients’ conditions.
• Supporting patients and their families with compassion and professionalism.
• Participating in admissions, transfers and discharge planning.
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
• Supporting colleagues, students and junior staff.
• Contributing to teaching, clinical audit, research and service improvement.
• Continuing to develop your specialist ICU knowledge and clinical skills.

• Previous acute hospital ICU/critical care experience (2 years)
