Job summary

Zizzi is seeking an Assistant Head Chef to lead shifts in our busy kitchen. You will partner with the Head Chef to run the pass, uphold high standards, and deliver Italian dishes for dine-in and delivery. This hands-on role requires calm under pressure and a passion for coaching junior chefs to grow.

You’ll manage stock, labour, safety, and hygiene while fostering a positive team culture. You’ll balance fast-paced service with safety and cost controls, while upholding cleanliness and food

Qualifications

• Experience as Sous Chef, Junior Sous, or Senior Chef in a high-volume kitchen.
• Passion for Italian cuisine and consistent, high-quality outputs.
• Strong leadership to run shifts and motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the kitchen and run the pass in the Head Chef's absence.
• Ensure fast, flawless service and consistent food quality.
• Support management with stock, labour, prep, and cost control.
• Coach junior chefs to build confidence and team spirit.
• Maintain kitchen safety and food hygiene at all times.
