ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
We’re establishing a new operating model for non-financial risk management and seek an IT Systems Risk Specialist to join our Centre of Excellence. You’ll support robust risk management aligned with the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), advising leaders and Risk Owners on risk appetite decisions safely and efficiently.
You will contribute to implementing risk policy, appetite, and control objectives to enable customer, regulatory, and strategic outcomes, challenging conventions to improve experiences for customers and staff.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Risk and control
Assist in implementing a risk and control oversight plan to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, standards, and controls.
Provide pragmatic advice for key risk decisions, influencing senior management with confidence.
Reporting & Monitoring
Monitor and report on the Group’s risk exposure relative to appetite, highlighting deviations. Develop risk indicators and KPIs for effective monitoring.
Drive automation in risk measurement, collaborating with tech, data, and analytics teams to escalate issues and define action plans for sustainable risk management.
Policy & Governance & Regulatory compliance
Contribute to designing and implementing risk policies, control objectives, and appetite, ensuring compliance and fair outcomes for customers. Regularly review and update risk policies to reflect emerging risks and opportunities.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Applicants with diverse backgrounds are encouraged. Key skills include deep operational expertise in IT Systems Risk within a regulated environment, knowledge of risk frameworks, and technology asset lifecycle management.
Policy, Governance & Regulatory Compliance
Understanding of relevant laws and standards, with experience in establishing risk policies, control objectives, and monitoring group exposure.
Future vision and understanding of emerging technology and risks
Curiosity and understanding of emerging technologies like AI, DLT, and Quantum, with ability to interpret their impact on risk landscape.
Decision-making & problem-solving
Effective decision-making skills, balancing risks and opportunities, with the ability to analyze complex data and recommend actions.
Relationship building
Strong communication skills for building effective partnerships and collaboration across defense lines.
