Job summary

A global workforce solutions partner is seeking an IT Systems Engineer (Security Cleared) for a 12-month contract in Bristol. This role involves implementing and maintaining IT/OT systems for high-performance testing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Cisco networking, VMware, and Active Directory, and be eligible for UK SC Clearance. Responsibilities include system support, monitoring, and collaborating with engineers to ensure optimal test facility performance.

Qualifications

  • Technical expertise with Cisco networking, VMware, and Active Directory.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity practices and resilience strategies.
  • Practical experience with system migrations, upgrades, and modernisation projects.
  • Familiarity with DevOps or Agile delivery methods is desirable.
  • Background in aerospace, defence, or another regulated industry is advantageous.
  • Eligibility for UK SC Clearance.

Job description - the role
Purpose of the role

As Security Cleared IT Systems Engineer you will join our Client engine testing team in Bristol. This role will see you working at the heart of high-performance test facilities, implementing and maintaining critical IT/OT systems that handle vast amounts of engine test data.

What you'll do
  • Implement, configure, and maintain IT/OT systems across global test facilities.
  • Work hands-on with Cisco networking, VMware, and Active Directory to deliver reliable, secure infrastructure.
  • Support day-to-day operation of systems, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation.
  • Ensure robust backup, recovery, and cybersecurity controls are in place.
  • Collaborate with architects, electronic engineers, and mechanical engineers to deliver end-to-end test facility solutions.
  • Assist in the migration from legacy systems to modern platforms, applying DevOps and Agile practices where appropriate.
  • Validate systems in real-world engine testing environments, ensuring uptime and data.
