Job summary

IntaPeople Limited is recruiting an IT Systems Engineer for a well-known manufacturer in South Wales. The role focuses on owning and supporting real Windows-based systems, with hands-on duties from setting up laptops to managing Intune policies and backups.

You will work with Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot, Active Directory and Entra ID, supporting Windows Server, Azure Local, Veeam and core network services. Hybrid working is available after settling in.

Qualifications

• Solid experience of 1st and 2nd line support in a Microsoft environment.
• Hands-on experience with Intune, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Entra ID.
• Understanding of DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP.
• Take ownership of problems and keep good records.
• Windows Server, Hyper-V, Veeam, Group Policy or PowerShell experience is a bonus, security knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own real systems and see the results of your work in a hands-on role.
• Set up laptops and troubleshoot equipment, including meeting room tech.
• Manage Intune policies, backups and core network services.
• Support security alerts and contribute to Cyber Essentials Plus.

Job description

A well known manufacturer near Treforest is looking for an IT Systems Engineer to join their small IT team. The person who joins will own real systems and see the results of their work. This is a hands-on role. One day you will be setting up laptops and fixing a meeting room screen. The next you will be working on Intune policies, server backups or the network. If you like variety, this is for you.

You will look after Microsoft 365, Intune, Autopilot, Active Directory and Entra ID. You will support Windows Server, Azure Local, Veeam and core network services. You will help respond to security alerts and support Cyber Essentials Plus. You will also play a part in projects. A full office redesign and a new ERP system are both on the way.

You will need solid experience of 1st and 2nd line support in a Microsoft environment. You will need hands-on experience with Intune, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Entra ID. You should understand DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP. You will take ownership of problems and keep good records.

It would help if you have worked with Windows Server, Hyper-V, Veeam, Group Policy or PowerShell. Security knowledge and relevant certifications are a bonus.

The role is based in Nantgarw with occasional travel to another South Wales site. Hybrid working is available once you are settled in. You will join the IT support rota and help with the odd out-of-hours task.

The package includes a salary of up to £45,000 and an annual profit share bonus.
