Job summary

Arcas Technology Ltd in Camberley is seeking an hands-on IT professional with strong networking skills to support a small office team. You’ll act as the go-to networking expert for engineers, handle day-to-day IT for 30-40 staff, and lead small IT projects.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years in IT support with hands-on networking experience.
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, IP addressing, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, port forwarding and firewalls.
• Practical skills with hardware setup and device provisioning; attention to detail and security awareness.

Responsibilities

• Act as escalation point for engineers: router setup, port forwarding, IP addressing and firewall config for new sites.
• Troubleshoot network/connectivity issues and ensure configurations are secure.
• Onboard/offboard users; set up laptops, desktops and mobile devices.
• Manage Apple devices via MDM (training provided).
• Support Microsoft 365 and Azure: user accounts, email and access rights.
• Provide general 1st/2nd line IT support across the office (Wi-Fi, printers).
• Run small IT projects: phone system rollouts, device refreshes, eSIM migrations.
• Support Cyber Essentials and ISO 27001 work through good practices around access, credentials and documentation.

About the company

My client is a growing, values-driven business with a head office in Camberley. They're investing heavily in technology, including new technology and software development functions, so it's a good time to join their small, close-knit IT team.

The role

This is a hands-on role for an all-rounder with genuine networking experience. You'll be the go-to technical person for the company's engineers when they need networking help. You'll also own day-to-day IT for around 30-40 head office staff.

What you'll be doing

• Acting as the escalation point for the company's engineers: router setup, port forwarding, IP addressing and firewall configuration for new sites
• Troubleshooting network and connectivity issues, and making sure configurations are secure (only the ports that need opening)
• Onboarding and offboarding users, and setting up laptops, desktops and mobile devices
• Managing Apple devices through MDM (training provided)
• Supporting Microsoft 365 and Azure: user accounts, email and access rights
• General 1st and 2nd line support across the office, from Wi-Fi issues to printers
• Running small IT projects, such as phone system rollouts, device refreshes and eSIM migrations, and coordinating with staff to get them done
• Supporting the business's Cyber Essentials and upcoming ISO 27001 work through good practice around access, credentials and documentation

What you'll need

• At least 2-3 years in IT support, with solid hands-on networking experience
• Confidence with TCP/IP, IP addressing, subnetting, DHCP, DNS, NAT, port forwarding, VLANs and firewalls
• Practical skills, e.g. you're comfortable crimping cables and setting up kit from scratch
• Good attention to detail when setting up users, devices and systems
• An understanding of why network security matters
• A self-starter attitude: happy to take ownership, run with small projects and talk to people across the business
• A full UK driving licence
