Job summary

A fast-growing cloud solution provider in Milton Keynes is looking for a Service Desk Engineer for an initial 6-month contract with the possibility of permanency. This role involves managing IT support tickets, providing hardware assistance, and coordinating onboarding for new staff. The Role

Our Group IT Team are looking to recruit a Service Desk Engineer for an initial 6‑month contract, with the strong possibility of permanency, to provide additional expertise and support during the launch of a number of key strategic projects. This will be a hands‑on role, and as such, attendance on site will be required.

You will join a team of seven to support Ekco’s operations across the UK teams, and wider global business. A successful candidate will be primarily stationed at our UK HQ in Milton Keynes at least three days a week, but will also need to travel to our London based offices.

There may be occasional travel opportunities to our other offices in Ireland/Netherlands.

As a junior role we don’t expect many years of experience, but do expect an eagerness to learn and passion for IT and all things tech!

Day‑to‑day at Ekco
  • Managing your tickets with high quality triaging, notes, communication and customer service.
  • Coordinating with HR to assist new joiners with new user onboardings.
  • Provide hardware break‑fix support.
  • Laptop + phone imaging and device inventory management.
  • Coordinating with the logistics team on deliveries of hardware.
  • Work with the global team to provide remote technical support for users across all our regions.
  • Assist with the technical maintenance of our UK offices. Basic networking, printing, and infrastructure support.
  • Coordinate with other technical teams and 3rd party vendors.
  • Document changes and processes in our documentation solution when required.
Essential Qualities
  • Passion for IT and Technology
  • Experience supporting hardware and software, at home, school or in the workplace.
  • Confident using Windows and/or macOS
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure, Intune and Windows Server
  • Demonstrable experience meeting deadlines
  • Able to explain basic IT Concepts such as Servers, Clients, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls, switches and routers.
  • Ability to learn and research new concepts and technologies independently.
  • Excellent English professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Team player.
Desirable
  • 1+ years of technical experience in a similar role
  • Any work experience in a professional role
  • Confident using Linux and other technologies
  • Basic administration experience of Microsoft 365, Intune, Windows Desktop/Server, Active Directory macOS
  • Scripting and or programming experience
  • Industry certifications – Azure, Microsoft 365. A+ and Network + desirable
  • Experience with ticketing systems and/or the ITIL Framework
