Yourgene Genomic Services offers a Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) Service, enabling clinics to run their own NIPT service for pregnant women with our prenatal screening tests and service laboratory based in Manchester.

Description of role:

We are looking to recruit a full-time and permanent IT Support Apprentice based onsite our Manchester HQ located at Manchester Science Park. This role holder will be an integral part of the IT team, often the initial point of contact with our customers. As part of this role, you will initially provide 1st line end-user support growing into 2nd and 3rd line over the apprenticeship. To role is to support the Group IT Manager in improving the service offered to the business and keeping the department in touch with our customers.

Key areas of responsibility:

• Managing the Service Desk
• Supporting customers with 1st line support issues
• Managing Onboarding / Offboarding Users
• Password management
• Maintaining Users within various systems
• Maintaining and managing the IT stock
• Build, Install and Maintain Equipment
• Data management
• Manage KB articles and Support Documentation
• Manage IT Assets & IT Management System

Aim to grow towards:

• Supporting internal customers with 1st & 2nd & 3rd line support issues across all systems.
• Support a wide range of Business Applications
• Manage and Administer SharePoint
• Support with the Network Infrastructure
• Support with Cyber Security Solutions & Monitoring
• Produce and maintain procedures, policies, and workflows around the support role.
• Manage knowledge-based articles and support documentation.
• Maintain product updates for our security and software solutions.
• Managing equipment/PC’s that are critical to the business

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

• GCSE English & Math's - Pass or Above, A-Levels/NVQ Equivalents in an IT area
• Knowledge of Microsoft systems (client & server side)
• A good general knowledge of security solutions
• The incumbent must be able to manage own workload, work well under pressure and prioritise tasks
• Must be able to communicate effectively, via telephone, MS Teams and in writing
• Proven ability to problem solve/troubleshoot
• Excellent customer service skills is essential
• Must be willing to learn, enthusiastic and have a thirst to learn and grow
