Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Next.js or Python/JavaScript and automation would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and general technical issues.
• Assist with setting up and configuring computers, laptops, user accounts, and applications.
• Support colleagues with IT queries, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Explore and implement opportunities to use AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Assist with coding, scripting, and the development of digital solutions.
• Research emerging AI technologies, tools and applications that could benefit the business.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes.
• Assist with testing, maintaining and documenting IT systems and solutions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically minded individual to join a business based in Runcorn. This opportunity suits a recent graduate, an aspiring IT professional, or someone with a strong interest in technology who is keen to gain practical experience in a commercial environment.

The role combines first-line IT support with opportunities to explore AI, coding, and automation, helping the business use technology effectively and improve everyday processes.

Previous commercial experience is not essential. We are particularly interested in someone with a proactive attitude, a willingness to learn and demonstrable coding experience or personal projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and general technical issues.
• Assist with setting up and configuring computers, laptops, user accounts, and applications.
• Support colleagues with IT queries, escalating complex issues as needed.
• Explore and implement opportunities to use AI tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Assist with coding, scripting, and the development of digital solutions.
• Research emerging AI technologies, tools and applications that could benefit the business. Passionate about AI and ready to learn and develop business with software programs (including Claude)
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and streamline processes.
• Assist with testing, maintaining and documenting IT systems and solutions.
• Support general IT administration and help maintain good IT security practices.
• Maintain the company website, fluent/experience in Next.js/Vercel.
• Transition of data from the historical company to the new provider

About You

We are looking for someone who is curious, motivated, and genuinely enthusiastic about technology, with the confidence to investigate problems and explore new ideas.

• Coding or scripting experience, gained through education, personal projects, or employment.

A degree or qualification in Computer Science or similar, IT, Software Development, or a related subject would be beneficial but is not essential. Knowledge of Next.js, Python, JavaScript, AI tools, Microsoft 365, automation, or software development would be advantageous.
