Job summary

Think Specialist Recruitment are partnering with a leading organisation in Watford to appoint a Digital Developer. The role focuses on utilising AI tools to develop and integrate solutions across the Microsoft stack.

Hybrid work with three days in the office and two from home is available. The successful candidate will have hands-on coding experience in Python (also considering JavaScript/TypeScript), solid SQL/data knowledge, and proficiency with Git/GitHub, Jira and Confluence.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated coding ability in a modern language (Python preferred).
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript is desirable.
• Proficient with SQL and data handling concepts.
• Experience using Git and GitHub including PRs and branching.
• Familiarity with Jira/Confluence for project management and docs.
• Strong communication to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery sessions with business teams to understand processes and requirements.
• Use AI tools to capture conversations and document current/future workflows.
• Design and build applications, automations and integrations across Microsoft stack and beyond.
• Utilise AI coding assistants to write, test and document code.
• Collaborate with end users, gather feedback, and iterate on solutions quickly.
• Manage code through GitHub with branching, PRs and reviews.
• Track projects in Jira and maintain documentation in Confluence.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and leverage AI tech.

Think Specialist Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading organisation based within the Watford area to recruit a Digital Developer to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about IT and uses AI on a regular basis to join a growing team within this newly created role.

Salary - £30,000 - £50,000 depending on experience plus great benefits

Hybrid working with 3 days in and 2 days from home

Some of the duties will include:

• Running discovery sessions with business teams to understand existing processes, challenges and requirements
• Using AI tools to capture conversations, analyse information and document current and future ways of working
• Designing and building applications, automations and integrations across the Microsoft technology stack and beyond
• Using AI coding assistants to write, test and document code
• Working closely with end users, gathering feedback and rapidly iterating on solutions
• Managing code through GitHub, including branching, pull requests and code reviews
• Tracking projects through Jira and maintaining documentation in Confluence
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, introduce efficiencies and make better use of emerging AI technologies
• Sharing ideas, demonstrating solutions and developing reusable components to speed up future projects

The suitable candidate:

• Hands-on coding experience in a modern programming language, ideally Python, although JavaScript or TypeScript will also be considered
• Confident, everyday use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or GitHub Copilot to support development and problem-solving
• Working knowledge of SQL and data
• Experience using Git and GitHub, including branching and pull requests
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence or similar project management and documentation tools
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders and translate conversations into clear requirements
