Job Title: IT Hardware and Software Technician

Location: Solihull
Job Type: Temporary to permanent
Salary: £12.31-£12.56
Start Date: ASAP

Working hours:0700-1600 Mon-Thurs, 0700-1300 Fri

(1-hour unpaid break Monday-Thursday, 30 minuteson a Friday)



We are actively recruiting for someone with both a strong IT and manual background for the role of IT Hardware and Software Technician for a market-leading bio-metricaccess control and workforce management solution provider. This Role will include the use of hand tools and can be dexterous at times.



Key Responsibilities

  • Configure and set up hardware to meet operational and client-specific requirements.
  • Assist with assembly of electrical equipment and associated brackets
  • Install and configure software across various platforms
  • Test and prepare products (Routers, CCTV, PCs) for deployment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues for returned products
  • Accurately log issues related to networking, hardware, or software.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments and Management as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Order Preparation and Stores teams.
  • Support with ad-hoc tasks as required.
Skills and Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
  • Solid understanding of IT hardware (PCs, routers, peripherals).
  • Effective problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Team player with a can-do attitude and a passion for IT and technology.
  • Basic knowledge of CCTV equipment (training provided).
  • Experience of using basic hand tools
