City St George's, University of London invites applications for an IT support role focused on level 1 and 2 helpdesk activities. The successful candidate will resolve routine hardware and software issues, primarily remotely, with some face-to-face assistance at service points.
You will provide technical guidance, contribute to knowledge resources, and help users maximize the value of desk-top systems and services. A professional, collaborative approach is essential.

Responsible for level 1 and 2 software and hardware support, predominately via telephone, face to face at service points, via email or via the web.
Provision of technical advice, guidance and informal training to customers using hardware and software programs. Troubleshoots and restores routine technical service and equipment problems by analysing, identifying and diagnosing faults and symptoms using established processes and procedures. Majority of resolutions are completed “remotely”.
Performs root cause analysis and develops checklists for typical problems. Recommends procedures and controls for problem prevention. Maintains knowledge database and call tracking/service management database to enhance quality of problem resolutions. Works in a team setting, sharing information and assisting others with calls.
