Job summary

City St George’s, University of London is seeking an individual to support and develop online careers systems for students and graduates, helping them access digital careers and employability resources.

You will optimise CareersHub, manage the Careers Intranet (SharePoint) and related subscriptions, and train staff while documenting best practices to improve user experience.

Job description

Background

This is a new role supporting the optimisation and development of online careers systems, giving City St George's students and graduates easy access to digital careers and employability support. The Careers and Employability Directorate is the central careers service for all students at City St George’s except for Bayes postgraduate students. The directorate has six teams; Careers Consultants, Employer Engagement, Unitemps, Student Development, Year Placements and the team where this position is based, Information.

Responsibilities

• Providing careers system support for users, diagnosing problems and finding resolutions, escalating issues to the central IT department and vendors, as required.
• Optimising the configuration and design of CareersHub, the key careers service management system used by the Careers & Employability team, and other website subscription services, reviewing analytics data to inform developments.
• Managing and updating content on CareersHub and the Careers Intranet (SharePoint), training staff and documenting good practice.

Person Specification

Experienced in content management, including web content curation and knowledge of basic HTML and accessibility standards. Highly proficient using Microsoft 365, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting. Passionate about technology and emerging AI, with the knowledge and skills to make meaningful improvements and to think beyond traditional solutions to improve the user experience. Skilled at identifying customer needs, resolving issues or escalating appropriately, and managing multiple priorities in fast-paced environments. Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a wide range of stakeholders.
