Job summary

Rexel UK is seeking an experienced IT Security Manager to lead the development and continual improvement of our technical security strategy across Rexel UK and Ireland. You will protect systems, data, staff and customers with robust controls, risk management and security-by-design principles.

You will own the organisation’s IT security posture, drive continuous improvement, manage incidents and coordinate risk assessments with technology and business teams to ensure GDPR and other regulatory

Qualifications

• Experience in IT security, cyber security, technology risk, privacy, governance or compliance.
• Security controls across infrastructure, cloud platforms, applications or data environments.
• Cyber Essentials, GDPR, PCI DSS, ISO standards or other security frameworks.
• Security incidents, vulnerability management, patching or penetration testing.
• Working with third-party technology suppliers and partners.
• Explaining technical risks and recommendations clearly to diverse audiences.
• Delivering security awareness, guidance or training.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Developing, implementing and maintaining Rexel UK and Ireland’s technical security strategy, standards, processes and controls.
• Managing major security incidents and overseeing information security, privacy and compliance risks.
• Coordinating security risk assessments with tech and business teams and ensuring mitigation plans.
• Embedding security-by-design principles across IT projects and architecture.
• Ensuring secure data management in line with GDPR across environments.
• Monitoring security performance and driving improvements against security metrics.
• Leading vulnerability management, patching, penetration testing and remediation.
