Job summary

HSBC is seeking an experienced Senior Control Manager to partner with the GCOO COO function and oversee the risk and control portfolio for the IT infrastructure domain. You will lead a specialist control team within the GCIO CCO that designs and maintains controls such as Configuration Baselines, IT Asset Management, and Cyber-related requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience within IT infrastructure and technology control capabilities.
• Experience in management of operational risk, non-financial risk and/or technology & cyber risk.
• Experience across Data, IT, Risk Management, and/or Audit roles.
• Proven ability to identify, define and solve problems impacting risk or controls.
• Financial Services or other highly regulated industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor for senior management by partnering to manage operational risk, risk assessments, control environment and audits.
• Promote accountable risk and control decision-making based on data quality and analysis; challenge inefficient or excessive controls.
• Provide specialist risk and control knowledge to continuously improve the control environment and monitoring of risk.
• Advise and design process and controls in a practical and effective manner.
• Identify trends to anticipate future developments in risk and control.
• Provide senior management with updates on policy changes or projects affecting operational risk.
