About The Role

The Project Delivery Practice based at Heathrow is looking to recruit an experienced IT Project Manager. This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to gain experience in a fast-paced environment as part of a rapidly expanding team managing a range of successful portfolios. The role requires close collaboration with both the client and other AtkinsRealis teams.

AtkinsRealis seeks a candidate with a high level of project leadership skills, capable of ensuring design delivery on complex projects within time and budget constraints, with expertise in large-scale IT projects. Responsibilities include bidding and delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards throughout their lifecycle, from tender to closeout. The candidate should be comfortable working with diverse suppliers and problem-solving proactively.

The role is offered as a contract, estimated to last at least 12 months, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. It requires on-site presence at the airport for a minimum of 4 days per week, with occasional night shifts depending on project needs.

Responsibilities

1. Providing project leadership on large value IT-related projects.
2. Working constructively and collaboratively with clients to protect and meet Atkins' commercial objectives.
3. Ensuring projects meet revenue, profit, and cash-flow expectations.
4. Resourcing bids and projects appropriately and leading bids on select pursuits.
5. Contributing to bid preparation and work-winning processes, focusing on deliverability.
6. Coordinating with practice managers to plan and resource bids and projects.
7. Developing and maintaining client relationships to support project performance and maximize opportunities for extensions and new work.
8. Achieving personal and team productivity targets.
9. Ensuring compliance with Business Management, HSE, and Quality procedures.
10. Maintaining knowledge of current design and regulatory standards.

About You

Experience and Skills:

• Significant project management experience within large multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience in an aviation environment, preferably Heathrow, is a plus.
• Experience managing a project portfolio.
• Understanding of design procedures, change control, and review requirements.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or HNC), preferably.
• Chartered status or working towards it is desirable.
• Minimum of APMP or PRINCE2 certification.
• H&S qualifications such as CDM, APS, IOSH are preferred.
• Required CSCS or equivalent certification.

Security Clearance

This role may require security clearance, contingent upon successful clearance. The vetting process is managed by UKSV and may require proof of UK residency for 5 years or more. Please do not mention or include current or previous security clearances in your application or CV.
