Job description

Job Description

Caron Group is a family of care homes located across Mid and South Wales. Our ethos is to provide high-quality care while ensuring that the privacy, dignity, and choice for our residents remain at the heart of everything we do. With over 24 years of experience in the care sector, we specialise in residential, nursing, and dementia care for older people. We are now entering an exciting phase of growth and are seeking dedicated, passionate individuals to join us on this journey and help us continue delivering exceptional care.

We are looking for an IT Product Manager who combines a strong understanding of care home operations with the ability to plan, coordinate, and manage the organisation's portfolio of digital care products and services. This is a role for someone who understands care homes from the inside and wants to use that knowledge to make technology work better for the people who deliver care.

Alongside day-to-day product management, you will plan and coordinate broader IT and telecommunications provision across the organisation. You will work with users, senior staff and external partners to understand requirements, clarify priorities and shape the development of our digital services. You will also analyse and define the current and target state for each product and service, assess cost-effectiveness and risk, and develop structured improvement plans with clear priorities, milestones and outcomes.

A formal IT product management background is not essential. Product management skills can be developed, and we will support you in building them. What cannot easily be taught is genuine care home experience and credibility.

If you have spent time working in or alongside care homes and have developed a curiosity about how digital products could make things better for residents and staff, we would very much like to hear from you.

About The Role
Key Responsibilities:
Own the digital care product portfolio
  • Take responsibility for managing the organisation's portfolio of digital care products and services — including Nourish, Medecare, Radar, Your Hippo, and future platforms — ensuring each product is delivering value to the homes.
  • Analyse and define the current and target state for each product and service, estimating cost-effectiveness, identifying points of risk and opportunity, and assessing the strengths and weaknesses of current provision.
  • Create structured improvement plans for each product with clear timescales and milestones, ensuring optimisation of activities and resources.
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of product improvements, upgrades, and new implementations across all 18 homes.
Be the bridge between care practice and digital tools
  • Build trusted relationships with home managers, deputy managers, and care teams across all homes, acting as the primary point of contact for digital care product queries and development needs.
  • Liaise with users, senior staff, and internal and external partners to clarify IT and digital requirements and ensure products are aligned to operational needs.
  • When a home raises a concern or difficulty with a digital product, assess whether the root cause is a training gap, a process gap, or a system gap — and take appropriate action for each.
Manage service delivery and quality
  • Take responsibility for managing the quality and performance of digital care products and services, ensuring agreed service levels are achieved across all homes.
  • Plan and monitor work and maintenance schedules across the product portfolio, coordinating with vendors, internal teams, and care home staff.
  • Report on IT product and service activities to senior management, providing clear and structured updates on product performance, risks, and development progress.
Coordinate and support the team
  • Supervise and coordinate technical activities related to digital care products, contributing to training plans and knowledge development within the Technology & Development team.
  • Support colleagues across the team to build confidence and capability with the digital care systems used across the organisation.
  • Work closely with the Data Engineer and Data & Insights Analyst (when in post) to ensure product data flows correctly into the organisation's data warehouse and reporting platform.
Support regulatory confidence
  • Help homes understand how their digital systems support compliance with CIW and CQC requirements — including care planning standards, medication recording, and evidence of person-centred practice.
  • Where digital records are identified as a risk during internal reviews or ahead of inspections, work with the home to resolve gaps quickly and confidently.
What we offer
  • A genuinely unique role that sits at the heart of how Caron Group improves outcomes for residents and supports the people who care for them.
  • The opportunity to own and shape the digital product portfolio for an organisation operating 18 homes — with real influence over how technology is adopted and experienced.
  • Direct access to senior leadership and a Technology & Development Director who will support your professional growth.
  • A supportive, values-led organisation where care quality is never traded off against commercial pressure.
  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Auto enrollment pension scheme
  • Blue Light Discount Card - eligibility to apply
  • Hybrid working - one day per week working from home (post probation, terms apply)
  • Training towards your professional development
