Join the Nellsar Family

Nellsar is a family-run care group with 13 Homes across Kent, Surrey and Essex. Compassion is at the heart of everything we do, and we’re dedicated to creating warm, welcoming Homes where residents feel valued, comfortable and truly part of the family. From expert residential, nursing and dementia care, to in-house physiotherapy and rehabilitation, engaging activities, and our innovative approach to nutrition and wellbeing, we deliver personalised care with genuine kindness.

We are looking for a Digital Systems Support Assistant to join our team and work closely with our Digital Transformation Manager, supporting the effective use of technology and digital systems across our care homes and central support functions.

Reporting directly to the Digital Transformation Manager, you will provide day-to-day digital and device support, respond to technical issues, maintain equipment and assist with the implementation of new digital solutions across Nellsar.

This is a hands-on role with a particular focus on Care Vision devices, mobile phones, tablets and other digital equipment. You will be an important link between our care homes, colleagues, software providers and external IT support partners, helping to ensure our technology is reliable, accessible and fit for purpose.

What you’ll be doing
  • Working closely with the Digital Transformation Manager, following agreed priorities and supporting the delivery of digital projects and improvements.
  • Providing first-line IT and digital support by telephone, email, Microsoft Teams and in person.
  • Setting up, configuring, maintaining and issuing tablets, mobile phones and other IT equipment.
  • Supporting devices used for Care Vision, electronic care records, compliance checks, communication and other care home systems.
  • Troubleshooting common issues with computers, tablets, phones, printers, Wi‑Fi and other equipment.
  • Installing authorised applications and carrying out approved software and security updates.
  • Maintaining accurate records of devices, equipment, faults, repairs and replacements.
  • Supporting care homes with equipment changes, replacements, new installations and digital system updates.
  • Providing clear, patient and practical support to colleagues with different levels of digital confidence.
  • Identifying issues that cannot be resolved at first line and escalating these to the Digital Transformation Manager or appropriate external support provider.
  • Supporting the rollout and adoption of new digital solutions across Nellsar.
  • Travelling to Nellsar care homes when on-site support is required.
About you

We’re looking for someone who is practical, organised, reliable and confident with technology, with a genuine willingness to help others.

You’ll ideally have experience providing basic IT support in a workplace environment, or demonstrable equivalent experience. You should have a good understanding of computers, laptops, tablets, mobile phones, printers and common IT equipment, along with experience using Android and Apple devices.

You’ll also need:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365, particularly Outlook and Microsoft Teams.
  • An understanding of Wi‑Fi, internet connectivity and common IT peripherals.
  • The ability to configure devices, install approved updates and resolve straightforward technical issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the patience to support colleagues with varying levels of IT confidence.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple support requests.
  • A solution-focused and adaptable approach.
  • The ability and willingness to travel between Nellsar locations.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with and take direction from the Digital Transformation Manager, while also working independently when dealing with day-to-day support requests.

An IT-related qualification or training such as BTEC, NVQ, CompTIA or equivalent would be desirable, but relevant practical experience is equally valuable.

Why this role matters

Technology plays an increasingly important part in the day-to-day running of our care homes. From supporting digital care records to keeping communication and essential equipment working, your role will help colleagues use technology confidently and effectively.

You’ll work as part of the digital support function, reporting directly to the Digital Transformation Manager and helping to deliver Nellsar’s ongoing digital transformation programme.

Most importantly, you’ll be providing support in a care environment where resident safety, confidentiality and continuity of care are always at the forefront.

If you enjoy solving problems, helping people and making technology work better, we’d love to hear from you.
