Job summary

Euro Auctions in Dromore, Northern Ireland invites a placement year student to join our IT team for 12–15 months, providing hands-on support across the group. You will work on Active Directory, server and Exchange administration, and assist with website management and imaging for auctions.

The role emphasizes learning, reliability, and the ability to communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences. Eligible students should be pursuing a related degree and be eligible to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Currently studying towards or completing a 3rd Level degree in a related discipline.
• Ability to work full time for 12-15 months.
• Eligible to live and work in the UK within 1 hour of the office.
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
• Interest in hardware maintenance and/or network administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-going IT support to the group.
• Review and manage website, auction images and search facility.
• Setup and manage end user access through Active Directory.
• Assist with server and systems support including Exchange, SQL, and backups.
• PC support for Windows 7/10; support for IP telephony and cloud/mobile apps.
• Support auction operations including e-Clerking and CCTV.

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8am – 5pm, Fridays 8am – 3.45pm

Location: Dromore, Co. Tyrone.

About this role

Key Activities

• Provide on-going IT support to the group.
• Review and management of website, auction images and search facility.
• Setup and manage end user access, security, Print and mobile deployments through Active Directory.
• Assist with Technical and Operational Support for Windows 2012/2016 Servers including Domain Controllers, Exchange 2013/365, WSUS, SQL, Dynamics CRM, Acronis Backup and Sage on a Cloud hosted platform.
• PC Support for Windows 7/10 and Operational Support for IP Telephony, Cloud hosting & Mobile Apps.
• Operational Auction setup and support including e-Clerking, score-boarding, Audio-Visual & CCTV.
• Worldwide Travel available & Essential.

The Person

This role requires an organised individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, and you should have the ability to communicate ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

While these opportunities are initially aimed at third year placement students, they are also open to fresh graduates eager to gain valuable international business experience.

The Requirements

• Currently studying towards/completing a 3rd Level Degree or equivalent in a relative discipline.
• The ability to work full time for 12-15 months.
• Must be eligible to live, work and remain in the UK, within 1 hour’s commute of the office you are applying to
• Maintain a valid passport.
• Show proficiency in entire MS Office suite especially Excel.
• Experience/interest in hardware maintenance and/or network administration preferred.
• Exposure to supporting hardware, software and communications systems and integration.
• Proficiency and confidence in managing databases and using the following applications: SQL, MS Office Suite and Web based software.
• An interest in Audio and Visual Equipment would be an advantage.
• Experience in working with collaborative technologies and an interest in development projects.
• Be reliable, self-motivated with good attention to detail and an exceptional work ethic.
• Exhibit flexibility and willingness to work extra hours during busy auction periods.
• Ability to work to tight and overlapping deadlines, in a pressurised environment.
• Possess exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Have a desire to exceed expectations.
