Job Description: Internal IT Manager at Partnerize

As the Internal IT Manager, you will demonstrate strengths in prioritising personal and team workload daily and exploring opportunities for improvement. You will be responsible for managing your engineers and ensuring the team exceeds expectations. To succeed, you should continuously expand your industry knowledge and quickly identify problems. All our leads at Partnerize are accountable, trustworthy, and dependable.

You will be part of the Partnerize Technical Operations team, working with the business, development, and IT functions. Your team is responsible for building infrastructure, delivering projects, and maintaining processes to ensure our systems are available, scalable, and secure. You will be involved in support, project delivery, and maintenance activities, providing support and advice to internal users for desktop, application, and platform services, ensuring incidents and requests are addressed promptly.

You will manage the internal IT team, ensuring the business is equipped to perform daily duties efficiently. Your role includes overseeing security, infrastructure, applications, and IT services, managing critical IT systems vital to the business's success.

This position requires travel to the Newcastle office 1-2 times per month.

Responsibilities:
  • Delegate tasks to achieve goals.
  • Coordinate with team members and management to ensure project standards.
  • Identify risks and develop contingency plans.
  • Analyze operations and organize training and improvement meetings.
  • Stay updated with industry trends.
  • Update work schedules and troubleshoot issues.
  • Motivate staff and foster open communication.
  • Maintain transparency about challenges and successes.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Provide operational support and engineering for business systems.
  • Support internal employees via 1st and 2nd line support.
  • Monitor software releases and features.
  • Identify and escalate risks and blockers.
  • Translate customer requirements into software configurations.
  • Collaborate with TechOps and other departments.
  • Optimize system performance and innovate improvements.
  • Work with the business to ensure appropriate IT support for colleagues' goals.
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Team management in a technical support environment.
  • Project management and delegation skills.
  • Workload prioritization, handling incidents, problems, and projects.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Multitasking and focus.
  • Attention to detail and goal orientation.
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices.
  • Scripting skills (PowerShell, Bash, Unix CLI).
  • Basic CLI troubleshooting.
  • Experience with MDM systems (Intune, JAMF, ManageEngine).
  • Experience with service management tools (Jira, Zendesk).
  • Understanding of AWS and cloud services.
  • Ability to write user and technical guides.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with good organizational skills.
  • Experience managing Microsoft infrastructure and IAM.
  • Experience with cloud collaboration tools (Office 365, Google Workspace).
Desirable Skills and Experience:
  • Help desk support experience.
  • Background in development or technology interests.
  • Experience with network appliances and end-user devices.
  • Asset and stock management experience.
  • Knowledge of security policies.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Familiarity with platforms like Slack, Zoom, Jamf Pro, Atlassian tools, ZenDesk, LastPass, Sophos.
