Job summary

Marks Sattin is seeking an IT Manager to own day-to-day IT operations and lead a small in-house team across multiple sites. The role covers infrastructure, applications, support and MSP governance with a strong emphasis on security and GDPR compliance.

You will drive transformation initiatives including cloud migration (Azure/M365), ERP and field service enhancements, while managing budgets, vendors and supplier contracts.

Qualifications

• Hands-on IT leadership across multiple sites and small in-house teams.
• Experience with ERP, field service tools and finance/procurement systems.
• Strong knowledge of Azure/M365, networking and security controls.
• Familiarity with GDPR and Cyber Essentials Plus requirements.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, contracts and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of ~5; allocate workload and coach performance.
• Run IT service delivery across sites: infrastructure, apps, service desk, MSPs.
• Ensure availability, security and performance; manage SLAs and KPIs.
• Support transformation: cloud, ERP, field service; identify automation opportunities.
• Implement group security controls and DR/BC planning.
• Support acquisition integration and standardisation activities.
• Manage vendors, licensing and IT operating budget; drive cost optimisation.
• Report performance and risk to senior stakeholders; maintain governance.
• Provide IT leadership across multiple sites and businesses.

Job description

A growing multi-site group is hiring an IT Manager to own day-to-day IT operations and lead a small in-house team (c.5).

The role combines hands-on operational leadership, infrastructure, apps, support, MSPs with cybersecurity oversight, supplier and budget control, and support for digital transformation and M&A integration. You'll work closely with the local MD and align to Group IT strategy and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of c.5; allocate workload and embed performance coaching.
• Run IT service delivery across multiple sites: infrastructure, applications, service desk and managed service providers.
• Ensure availability, security and performance of business-critical systems (ERP, field service, finance/procurement, operational platforms); manage SLAs/KPIs and escalations.
• Support transformation initiatives: cloud (Azure/M365), modern workplace, ERP and field service enhancements; identify automation/AI opportunities.
• Implement Group security controls; ensure GDPR and Cyber Essentials Plus compliance; maintain DR/BC plans.
• Support acquisition integration, stabilisation and standardisation (and separation/carve-out where needed).
• Manage vendors, contracts, licensing and the IT operating budget; drive cost optimisation and lifecycle planning.
• Report clearly on performance, risk and improvement activity to senior stakeholders.
• IT management with people leadership.
• Delivering IT across multiple sites/businesses.
• Strong Microsoft 365/Azure, infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity capability.
• Managing MSPs/outsourced services.
• Ownership of budgets and supplier management.
• Experience in integration and/or transformation programmes.
• Working knowledge of GDPR and relevant compliance requirements.
