Centrica Energy seeks an IT Infrastructure Engineer with expertise in DevOps, automation, ITIL, and IaaS to join our infrastructure team. You’ll maintain and operate our new VMware-based Private Cloud with VCF and Aria Suite tools, currently in onboarding and learning phases.

The Role:

As an IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will maintain and optimize our IT systems, ensuring high availability and performance. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operations and improve IT services.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Monitor and Maintain IT Infrastructure: Oversee servers, networks, and applications for seamless operations.
2. Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Provide solutions to technical problems, minimizing downtime.
3. System Upgrades and Maintenance: Plan and execute upgrades to keep systems secure and current.
4. Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell) to automate tasks.
5. Documentation: Maintain comprehensive IT process documentation.
6. Compliance and Best Practices: Follow ITIL practices, contribute to improvements.
7. Security Management: Implement security measures to protect infrastructure.
8. Collaboration: Work with DevOps and development teams.
9. Operations Rotation: Participate in monitoring and service desk duties.
10. Experience with NetApp is a plus.

Our infrastructure is primarily based on Windows Servers; experience with Microsoft infrastructure is required. We are transitioning to cloud-native solutions, so familiarity with both environments is advantageous. The role can be based in Aalborg, Copenhagen, or London, with some travel expected.

You will join a team of 8 Infrastructure and Network specialists supporting global network and infrastructure operations.

About You:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• Proven 3+ years experience in IT operations or similar.
• Strong knowledge of servers, networks, storage.
• Experience with automation tools and scripting (Ansible, PowerShell).
• Familiarity with ITIL framework.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL) are a plus.
