Job description

About the role:

Keep our technology connected, reliable and ready

Technology works best when everything behind it works together.

From servers and storage to networks, cloud services and telephony, our infrastructure provides the foundations that colleagues across Lincolnshire Co-op rely on every day.

We’re looking for an IT Infrastructure Analyst to join our Support Centre team in Lincoln, helping to keep that technology secure, resilient and performing at its best.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving services and getting stuck into technology. You’ll play an important part in keeping our infrastructure running smoothly while helping us evolve the technology that supports our diverse family of businesses.

Because great IT isn’t just about keeping systems running.

It’s about making sure people can keep doing what they do best.

Where every day brings a new challenge

You could be investigating an infrastructure incident, monitoring the performance of our systems, supporting a major change or working with a supplier to resolve a complex issue. You might be maintaining technology in our server room, supporting Azure Cloud services or travelling to another site to carry out essential maintenance or an installation.

You’ll work across a broad technology landscape, including Microsoft and Windows Server technologies, Azure Cloud, physical infrastructure, hypervisors, storage, networking and telephony.

Alongside the day‑to‑day, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to projects and service improvements—helping us introduce new technology, strengthen resilience and find better ways of working.

And you won’t be doing it alone.

You’ll work closely with colleagues across Information Systems, teams throughout the Society and our third‑party suppliers, bringing your technical expertise and problem‑solving skills to the challenges that matter.

Where technical expertise makes a real difference

You’ll take ownership of keeping our core infrastructure reliable and available, while helping us continuously improve the services we provide.

You’ll focus on:

  • Supporting and maintaining core server, storage, networking and infrastructure services within an ITIL‑aligned environment, while monitoring performance and proactively identifying potential issues
  • Investigating incidents and escalated issues, supporting major incident resolution, Root Cause Analysis and second‑line infrastructure support
  • Supporting infrastructure changes and technology projects, working with colleagues, suppliers and third‑parties to resolve complex issues and maintain service continuity
  • Maintaining clear technical documentation, identifying opportunities to improve infrastructure performance and availability, and continuing to build knowledge through training, new technologies and industry best practice

Because this role isn’t simply about fixing what’s broken.

It’s about understanding what’s behind the problem, finding a better way forward and helping build infrastructure that people can rely on.

And ultimately, your work will help us deliver our purpose: bringing together energy, ideas and resources to make life better in our communities.

INDMP

About You
You’ll bring:
  • Strong IT infrastructure experience, particularly across server and networking technologies, including LAN/WAN configuration and diagnostics, DNS, DHCP, NTP and Wi‑Fi
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Enterprise technologies and Windows Server, alongside virtual server architecture, ideally VMware, and virtual desktop architecture, ideally Citrix XenDesktop
  • Experience with SAN architecture, ideally NetApp, and cloud platforms including Azure and AWS
  • An understanding of firewall edge security policies, with a focus on maintaining secure and resilient infrastructure
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organisational skills, with excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities
  • A proactive, adaptable approach, with the ability to work independently, contribute to a team and continually develop your technical knowledge

You’ll also need a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use, as the role includes attending other sites across our business areas for essential maintenance and installation.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who takes pride in delivering a reliable IT service, supports those around you and is always looking for ways to make things better.

In addition to working for a successful co‑operative business, you’ll receive a range of benefits designed to recognise your contribution and support you both inside and outside of work:

  • 30 days annual leave, including bank holidays (pro‑rata)
  • Pension scheme with up to 12% employer contributions
  • Generous colleague discounts across our family of businesses
  • Annual discretionary colleague bonuses to reward your hard work

We’re proud to be an Investors in People Platinum employer, recognised for the way we support our colleagues to grow and develop. As your confidence grows, you’ll have opportunities to build new skills, progress your career and shape your future with a community‑focused organisation.

Whether you’re looking to take the next step in your career or develop your skills in a business with a strong sense of purpose, we’ll work with you to help make your career better.
