Job summary

Tottington High School in Bury is seeking an experienced Cover Supervisor with an IT focus to join on a full-time, long-term basis. The role will mainly deliver and supervise IT lessons when the class teacher is absent, with flexibility to cover other subjects as needed.

The successful candidate should bring strong classroom management, excellent communication, and a genuine interest in Information Technology, with a view to future teacher training within IT.

Qualifications

• Experience in a school setting as Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, or similar.
• Ability to manage groups of students and maintain engagement.
• Interest in Information Technology and willingness to support IT lessons.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned IT lessons and supervise students in the absence of the class teacher.
• Maintain a positive learning environment and manage behaviour.
• Support students in completing set work and achieving objectives.
• Provide cover across other subjects when required.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies.
