Job summary

The American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) invites applications for an IT Manager to lead deployment and governance of information technology across the designated ABS area in line with corporate policies. You will guide staff, contractors, and IMS teams, ensuring effective IT operations and strategic enhancements.

Responsibilities include audits, budgeting, training, and system upgrades, with reporting to ABS senior management and close collaboration with IMS Infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field; equivalent experience accepted.
• Advanced degree preferred and highly valued.
• Minimum of ten years of IT management experience.
• Experience with budgeting, capital projects, and cost reporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with IMS standards, policies and procedures.
• Communicate major project status to ABS Senior Management.
• Provide support for ABS Enterprise Network via mixed teams and contractors.
• Review audits and customer feedback for IMS services and products.
• Report findings and drive corrective action plans with management.
• Lead staff selection, performance feedback and training development.
• Evaluate bid packages for IT services, hardware, and support.
• Collaborate with management to define information requirements and priorities.
• Plan system upgrades based on equipment needs and growth.
