Job summary

Morson Group is seeking an IT Deployment Engineer for a PC Refresh Project in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The role is 6 months initially, paying £20-£24 per hour inside IR35/Umbrella, and involves hands-on deployment of end-user hardware to ensure a smooth transition with minimal business disruption.

You will replace hardware, image devices using SCCM, migrate user data, configure software, and maintain accurate deployment records while working with project teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering desktop or laptop deployment projects.
• Experience with Windows 11 deployments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft deployment software (SCCM).
• Experience imaging and configuring end-user devices.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi).
• Experience using ticketing systems (ServiceNow).
• Strong hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure new desktop and laptop hardware.

• Swap legacy hardware with new equipment per deployment schedules.

• Install and configure approved software and applications.
• Perform hardware health checks and QA testing prior to deployment.
• Troubleshoot imaging, hardware, and software issues during deployment.
• Ensure devices are correctly joined to the domain.
• Update asset management systems and deployment documentation.
• Package, collect and return replaced equipment per project procedures.
• Escalate technical issues to project leads or technical support teams.
• Adhere to project schedules, health and safety guidelines, and policies.

Our client is seeking an experienced IT Deployment Engineer to join a large-scale PC Refresh programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for replacing end-user hardware, deploying standard operating system images, migrating user data where required, and ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption to business operations.

This is a hands‑on customer-facing role requiring excellent technical knowledge, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality IT support throughout the deployment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy and configure new desktop and laptop hardware.
• Image devices using SCCM.
• Swap legacy hardware with new equipment in accordance with deployment schedules.
• Migrate user profiles, data, and settings where applicable.
• Install and configure approved software and applications.
• Perform hardware health checks and quality assurance testing prior to deployment.
• Troubleshoot imaging, hardware, and software issues during deployment activities.
• Ensure devices are correctly joined to the domain
• Update asset management systems and deployment documentation accurately.
• Maintain accurate records of completed installations and hardware returns.

Required Skills & Experience

• Previous experience delivering desktop or laptop deployment projects.
• Experience with Windows 11 deployments.
• Knowledge of Microsoft deployment software i.e, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Experience imaging and configuring end-user devices.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
• Basic networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Wi‑Fi connectivity.
• Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow.
• Strong hardware troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.
• Ability to prioritise workloads and work to strict deployment schedules.

Desirable Skills

• Experience working on enterprise-wide technology refresh programmes.
• Knowledge of BitLocker, VPN configuration, and endpoint security solutions.
