The Cyber Security IT Engineer will evaluate all security solution technologies and toolsets and help develop the security systems within the organisation. You will ensure that data, network, and systems are protected from cyber threats and comply with relevant standards and regulations. Additionally, you will provide technical support to other security team professionals and partners.

Dimensions:

The company is expanding its presence in Microsoft Azure and enhancing its on-prem OT Mission Critical Systems. It is important to develop a secure environment for hosting and managing our critical information assets. We seek candidates with a blend of cybersecurity skills, including solution design and implementation, operation, governance, change management, communications, and data protection using relevant encryption standards. Success is measured by maintaining regulatory compliance and improving the technical and organizational resilience against the evolving cyber threat landscape.

• People – collaborate effectively within a team and with internal and external stakeholders
• Suppliers – interact regularly with third-party service providers, technical consultants, and cybersecurity tool vendors
• Communicate complex cybersecurity concepts clearly across different levels of the organization to ensure shared understanding of security decisions
• Stakeholders – build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external technology teams, third-party providers, and partners to enhance security outcomes and align on strategic actions

Principal accountabilities:

• Uphold the highest safety standards in all responsibilities
• Implement cybersecurity plans and technology roadmaps aligned with best practices, UK Power Networks' Cyber Security Strategy, and strategic goals
• Research new security technologies, tools, and solutions for both enterprise on-premises and cloud infrastructures, supporting the Cyber Security Architects
• Partner with third-party vendors to design and implement proof-of-concept cybersecurity solutions, evaluating them against strict requirements and policies
• Assess existing cybersecurity solutions to ensure they are fit for purpose and optimally designed and implemented
• Support the installation of cybersecurity products such as firewalls, endpoint protection, encryption, VPNs, SIEM, PAM, VM, etc.
• Lead root cause analysis of cybersecurity incidents to prevent recurrence and strengthen controls
• Provide technical guidance to the wider IT teams regarding cybersecurity controls and design principles
• Establish and maintain relationships with key partners to support cybersecurity initiatives and improvements
