Position Title: Cyber Security Engineer

Compensation Range: £45k -£55k

Location: UK

Work Environment: Home-based with need base travel to UK office locations

Key Responsibilities

1. Demonstrate strong security fundamentals while working hands-on with security technologies
2. Proactively assess security risks and expedite gap closure to help promote a risk-aware culture
3. Manage secure web gateways/web proxy, endpoint detection and response solutions (EDR/XDR), Microsoft Purview Firewall & email security
4. Support the vulnerability management process, perform vulnerability assessments, analyze findings, establish priorities, and coordinate remediation activities
5. Have good knowledge of phishing simulation tools and support the delivery of security awareness programs
6. Assist, train, and mentor cybersecurity analysts in the use of security tools, application security standards, report preparation, and incident resolution
7. Act as an escalation point for analysts to aid in troubleshooting security incidents
8. Actively monitor and research cybersecurity threats, staying updated on the threat landscape that could impact Davies’ operations or infrastructure
9. Perform threat hunting and recommend mitigation actions
10. Assist with risk management tasks
11. Monitor and maintain security tools such as SIEM, anti-virus, micro-segmentation tools, and vulnerability management platforms
12. Review changes to determine their impact on IT security
13. Assist with security gap and risk assessments including PCI DSS, ISO 27001, CIS Top 18, and Cyber Essentials
14. Participate in an on-call rota for SOC escalations
15. Identify and assess new vulnerabilities
16. Produce relevant documentation and reports
17. Escalate issues promptly to the Cyber Team Leader

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
