The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an IT procurement and asset management professional to support the Trust’s IM&T services, delivering cost-effective purchasing and reliable stock control across a large organisation.
The role involves liaising with requisitioning departments, obtaining quotes, progressing orders, and assisting in configuration and user support for PC hardware and mobile devices to maintain high quality IT service for staff.

In the challenging arena of IM&T within the NHS, the Trust is leading in the development of electronic digital clinical systems through the implementation and development of its eRecord Programme.
With a strategic IM&T Programme in place our plans are to implement high quality solutions that deliver the benefits required to support the clinical and operational services of the Trust and the wider community.
With the increasing dependence on IM&T within the organisation and the introduction of new systems, we are seeking to recruit the above post, adding to the existing Infrastructure and Desktop Support teams.
The post holder will provide comprehensive IT procurement, asset management and technical support services across the Trust. Responsibilities include assessing departmental IT equipment requirements, obtaining quotations, raising and progressing orders through the Trust’s IT requisition process, and ensuring the timely resolution of supply and invoice-related queries. The role requires effective liaison with requisitioning departments, procurement, supplies and finance teams to maintain clear communication and support efficient service delivery.
The successful candidate will identify cost-effective purchasing options and potential savings opportunities while supporting the management of IT stock, asset databases and associated documentation. In addition, the post holder will assist with the configuration, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of PC hardware, software, peripheral devices and mobile technologies across the Trust, ensuring equipment is deployed and maintained to agreed standards and supporting the delivery of a reliable IT service to staff.
