Job summary

Unum UK is seeking a strategic Software Asset Manager to own and optimise the software asset portfolio across on‑premise, cloud, SaaS and PaaS. You will govern licensing, usage, entitlements and cost-optimisation initiatives while partnering with Development, Solution Architecture and Procurement teams.

You will drive FinOps practices, build ROI and TCO business cases, and provide leadership on supplier negotiations.

Qualifications

Proven experience in Software Asset Management (SAM) and technology spend optimisation.
Strong knowledge of software licensing across major vendors (Microsoft, Oracle, IBM or equivalent).
Experience managing software estates across on‑premise, SaaS, PaaS and cloud.
Solid understanding of cloud cost management and FinOps practices, ideally Azure licensing.
Experience partnering with Procurement and contributing to supplier negotiations.
Strong financial and analytical skills, with cost models, business cases and forecasts.

Responsibilities

Own and manage Unum UK's software asset portfolio, ensuring accurate reporting and governance.
Drive cloud cost optimisation initiatives and improve visibility, forecasting and value.
Produce robust financial analysis including ROI, NPV and TCO.
Collaborate with Procurement, Sourcing and Development teams to optimise supplier outcomes.
Communicate complex technical and commercial information clearly to stakeholders.
