Job summary

Computacenter in London is seeking an Inventory Controller to manage IT equipment throughout its lifecycle, ensuring assets are received, stored, tracked, deployed, returned and disposed of in line with agreed processes and security requirements.

You will maintain accurate inventory, support day-to-day service delivery and ensure all equipment remains secure and fully accountable, while collaborating with Service Management and technical teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Experience in IT asset management, stock control, logistics, stores or desktop technology
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and data reconciliation
• Experience with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy
• Good knowledge of IT hardware and desktop technology
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to SLAs
• Understanding of asset accountability, inventory control and data security
• Flexible, proactive approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Manage the receipt, storage, allocation, deployment and return of IT equipment
• Maintain accurate asset and inventory records
• Carry out stock checks and investigate discrepancies
• Monitor stock levels and ensure equipment is available for service requirements
• Manage secure dispatches, returns and vendor repairs
• Assess equipment for redeployment, repair or end-of-life disposal
• Ensure all assets are handled securely and in line with data protection requirements
• Respond to asset queries and work with Service Management and technical teams
• Highlight asset discrepancies, security concerns and process issues
• Support audits and continuous improvement activities
