Job description

As a Crown Commercial Service Supplier, the company delivers tailored, sustainable, and cutting-edge technology services designed specifically for the education sector.

More than just a provider of hardware and software, NS Optimum empowers teaching and learning by transforming educational environments with innovative IT solutions. From advanced network installations to fully interactive classrooms, the team works to enhance the way students and teachers engage with technology.

This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about technology to gain hands-on experience, build valuable technical skills, and play a role in projects that make a real difference in schools across the UK.

In this role, you’ll work towards your Level 3 Information Communications Technician qualification delivered by our expert training team at Baltic Apprenticeships.

A Typical Day in the Job:

  1. Getting involved in various security processes such as password resets, anti-virus configuration, implementing group policies and updating white listing systems.
  2. Support with SLA's on the ticketing system.
  3. Provide technical support to internal staff and pupils and external parents, via the ticketing system, email, calls and face to face.
  4. Install and upgrade various hardware components such as laptops, RAM, SSD, Hard drive, printer installation, projector installation and more.
  5. Install and upgrade software both physically and virtually, using Chrome Books, Active Directory file share and PXE Microsoft Server.
  6. Involved in software updates such as server packs, security patches and driver updates.
  7. Working with various cloud technologies such as Office 365, Parent Pay, Edulink and Google Classroom.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team.

Salary, Hours & Benefits:

  1. Monday to Friday 8am-4pm.
  2. 21 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays.

  4. Friendly and approachable.
  5. Grade 5 in GCSE English and Grade 4 in GCSE Maths.

This apprenticeship provides the skills, qualification and experience you need to immerse yourself within an exciting, fast-moving industry and become an effective IT Support Technician.
