Job summary

Simoda, based in Sheffield, is offering an IT Apprentice position in partnership with Baltic Apprenticeships. This Level 3 apprenticeship is designed to launch your career in IT support while you work full-time at Simoda and train online with Baltic's programme.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure and cloud services, supported by a workplace mentor. The scheme includes progression onto a Level 4 qualification after completion.

• GCSE Maths 4 and English 5.
• Passion for IT and technology.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-line IT support, assisting customers with everyday technical issues and general IT queries.
• Resolve basic IT issues, including password resets, software updates and user access requests.
• Log and manage support requests, escalating more complex issues to senior technicians when required.
• Communicate with customers professionally through email, telephone and Kinetwise, providing updates and support.
• Gain hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Kinetwise and the company's internal cloud services.
• Work alongside experienced IT technicians, developing technical knowledge and practical skills while learning about the wider IT support environment.

In partnership with Baltic Apprenticeships, Simoda is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their growing team. Established in 2019 and based in Sheffield, Simoda is an award-winning, independent technology business supporting organisations across the UK and internationally. Specialising in IT services, cloud solutions, cyber security and digital transformation, Simoda is passionate about using technology to solve real-world challenges and deliver smarter solutions for its customers.

A Typical Day in the Job:

• Provide first-line IT support, assisting customers with everyday technical issues and general IT queries.
• Help resolve basic IT issues, including password resets, software updates and user access requests.
• Log and manage support requests, escalating more complex issues to senior technicians when required.
• Communicate with customers professionally through email, telephone and Kinetwise, providing updates and support.
• Gain hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365, Azure, Kinetwise and the company's internal cloud services.
• Work alongside experienced IT technicians, developing technical knowledge and practical skills while learning about the wider IT support environment.

Full training and support will be provided by your workplace mentor and from the Baltic team. This apprenticeship programme will provide you with everything you need to launch and develop your career in IT support. Afterwards, we'll support you to take the next steps, including further training and progression onto a Level 4 qualification.

Your Training with Baltic Apprenticeships

This Level 3 apprenticeship provides everything you need to immerse yourself in the exciting world of technology and launch a rewarding career in IT. You'll get hands‑on experience in all areas of technical support, from configuring devices to supporting with software, optimising performance and setting up virtual environments. With our unique curriculum and one‑to‑one support, you'll accelerate your skills and get the qualification and confidence you need to thrive in IT. You'll be based full time with an employer and will quickly become an important part of the team. Our training is 100% online, including real‑time classes with our expert trainers and self‑paced courses created by industry specialists.

• Knowledgeable in Microsoft packages
• Grade 4 in Maths and grade 5 in English at GCSE.
• You must have the right to work in the UK and valid residency status to apply for this apprenticeship.

£21,157.00 to £24,784 per annum
