What does the job involve?
Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm is the world’s largest offshore windfarm in construction. It is being developed in 3 phases (A, B and C) with a total of 277 turbines installed across the entire project. The wind farm is located some 100-150 nautical miles southeast of South Shields, covering a total area of over 1500km2. During the operations phase, maintenance of the wind farm will be conducted from 4 Service Operations Vessels (SOVs) each equipped with a Daughter Craft (DC). The O&M Base including the logistics warehouse is located at Port of Tyne, South Tyneside. Adjacent is Equinor’s UK Central Control Room and technical competence center for engineering support. Equinor is the manager for Dogger Bank during the operations phase. For its O&M organisation based from the Port of Tyne we are seeking to expand our team with an IT professional. By joining the Dogger Bank team you will have the opportunity work with internally with Equinor IT teams and cyber security, as well interfacing and managing external support providers. The successful candidates will be based at the O&M Base in the Port of Tyne in the Newcastle area, be required to be part of an on-call rota, when established, and travel to Dogger Bank onshore convertor stations to provide the necessary IT support.
What will my tasks be?

Within this position, your key tasks will be to:

  • Provide hands-on technical installation, configuration and support for onsite desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and network equipment, including OT systems as well as monitor and maintain local area network (LAN), internet connectivity, and communication systems (e.g., VoIP, satellite).
  • Supporting implementation of (CNI) critical national infrastructure and (OES) operator of essential services requirements for Dogger Bank and ensuring continued asset compliance, reporting and internal / external audits.
  • Ensure cybersecurity best practices are followed, including patch management and access control. (Where applicable)
  • Maintain and support local server and backup systems where applicable.
  • Coordinate with vendors and central IT teams for escalated support and equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain asset inventory of all IT equipment, cables, and components on-site, including OT systems and manage all service level agreements ensuring all are documented properly, including incidents, changes, and maintenance are logged.
  • Manage and maintain IT/OT equipment and system requirements as necessary for business continuity events and be the IT representative during business continuity events.
  • Assist with IT-related tasks during site commissioning or upgrades.
  • Support digital innovation projects for Dogger Bank and manage interfacing with IT and OT systems.

  • Relevant experience within onsite technical and server support is required and greater levels of experience can compensate for educational background.
  • Experience maintaining local area network (LAN), internet connectivity, and communication systems (e.g., VoIP, satellite) as well as experience Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting software, hardware, and peripheral devices.
  • Experience with Cyber Security principles and tools including patch management and access control.
  • High level of integrity, demonstrated ability to take initiatives and work independently.
  • Result & quality oriented with strong cooperation and communication skills.
  • Required to be part of on call rota once established.
  • Must be able to obtain UK security clearance.
  • Fluency in English both written and oral.
