Job summary

IDAS (Independent Domestic Abuse Services) in Harrogate, England, is recruiting for a part-time role (18.5 hours) to provide practical and emotional support to victims of sexual violence and to assist families in the criminal justice process. You will conduct holistic assessments, develop personalized coping plans, and refer clients to specialists as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support to victims of sexual violence, including young people aged 13+ and parents of younger children.
• Support clients through the criminal justice process, including court preparation and liaison with police and CPS.
• Complete holistic needs assessments and develop personalised cope and recovery plans.
• Ensure clients are informed of their rights and case progress in line with the Victims Code of Practice, and deliver support around Criminal Injuries Compensation and special measures.
• Make referrals to specialist services such as counselling, sexual health clinics, and legal support.
• Participate in the IDAS helpline and respond to safeguarding concerns appropriately.
• Act as an internal advisor on sexual violence and deliver training to staff and external agencies.
• Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion by ensuring services are accessible and responsive to the needs of all communities, including those who are underrepresented or marginalised.
