Job summary

Smith Haulage Limited seeks a dedicated HGV technician/yard operative to support the fleet of Volvo/Scania tractor units and walking floor trailers. You will also keep the yard tidy and safe, with occasional on-call breakdown support in fleet vans.

Responsibilities include fleet maintenance, yard organisation, equipment repairs, forklift operation, and assisting clients in the yard with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• General HGV mechanical knowledge.
• Time served within the industry.
• Driving licence (car).

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintenance across our fleet of vehicles.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the yard area.
• Perform equipment repair and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Operate forklifts to move items around the yard safely.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting clients with their needs in the yard.
