North American Construction Services, Ltd. is hiring a permanent, full-time Ironworker to join our team in Pinson/Birmingham, AL.

Your Role:
  • Read specifications and blueprints to determine the materials' locations, quantities, and sizes required.
  • Hoist steel beams, girders, and columns into place using cranes, hand signals, and tag lines.
  • Position steel members using hoisting devices, prying, and pushing.
  • Secure members into final position with turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks, and hand tools.
  • Align bolt holes in steel members using drift pins or spud wrenches.
  • Verify the alignment of members with plumb bobs and levels.
  • Connect columns, beams, and girders with bolts following blueprints, using various bolts, nuts, washers, and torquing or welding techniques.
  • Cut and weld steel members for modifications, utilizing oxyacetylene welding equipment.
  • Identify differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
Requirements:
  • Experience in blueprint reading, layout, and use of shop tools such as oxy/acetylene torches, hand tools, drill presses, and saws.
  • Experience installing and refurbishing combustion furnaces.
  • Current weld certification.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification.
  • Work experience in industries like aluminum, steel, forging, ductile iron, petrochemical, co-gen, foundry, or automotive.
