Job summary

Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for an Occupational Therapist, RMN, or Social Worker to join our Mental Health Employment Service in Bridgwater, delivering IPS to help people with serious mental health challenges gain paid employment. Travel across the county is required.

You will assess abilities, develop action plans, and provide job coaching and in-work support, working with Community Mental Health Teams and employers to create real opportunities.

Qualifications

• Essential degree in social work, OT or nursing
• UK professional registration required if degree is in social work/OT/nursing
• Must own a valid driving licence to travel across the county
• Desirable IPS Training and Masters degree

Responsibilities

• Work directly with people to gain or retain paid employment.
• Carry out vocational assessments and develop tailored action plans.
• Provide job coaching and in-work support, including workplace adjustments.
• Build relationships with local employers to create opportunities.
• Manage caseload across community settings and maintain records.
• Collaborate with Community Mental Health Teams and partner organisations.
• Promote employment as part of recovery and monitor outcomes.

Education

Degree in social work, occupational therapy or psychiatric nursing

Professional registration to practise in the UK

Masters degree (desirable)
