Job summary

Waythrough is seeking an enthusiastic Employment Specialist to join our IPS team in County Durham. You will build relationships with local employers, match people to vacancies, and support them to secure and sustain employment.

With a 37-hour week, you’ll work closely with Employment Coaches, understand the local labour market, and provide ongoing in-work support while keeping accurate records and reporting to funders.

Qualifications

• Level 3 IAG qualification or equivalent required.
• Experience helping individuals achieve learning and employment goals.
• Experience working with a range of employers to meet recruitment needs.
• Strong knowledge of the local labour market and skills shortages.
• Experience in multi-agency working to support progression into employment.
• Strong organisational and communication skills; accurate record-keeping.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with local employers to identify opportunities.
• Promote abilities of the people we support to employers.
• Arrange placements, work trials and experience.
• Collaborate with Employment Coaches to identify job-ready individuals.
• Match individuals to vacancies based on skills and goals.
• Provide in-work support to sustain employment.
• Understand local labour markets and employer needs.
• Maintain case records and progress tracking.
• Update MIS and report to funders.
• Attend multi-agency meetings as required.
